If you are determined to develop a successful career as an author, you must be willing to face years of effort, criticism and disappointments - and to exploit these experiences positively.

Plan your career for the long term. Writing is a craft: Practice it... daily,

at a regularly scheduled time. Do not expect to write a couple of pages here and there after work. It won't work.

You will need a lot of patience, the will to communicate and a healthy dose of self-confidence. Offering a manuscript to an agency doesn't necessarily mean the agency will take you on as a new client.
