4. After signing a contract ... (1)

... between author and agency, the agency will start looking for suitable publishers and partner agencies for the author's work. Author and agency will come to a mutual decision on which publisher / partner agency to sign up with, when the book will be published and which rights in which markets to grant to the publisher.

Our agency's creed is:

The author retains apart from his moral rights as many exploitation rights as possible to his / her work. That means the rights to as many languages as possible, as many book editions and formats and as many further subsidiary rights (audio, television, merchandizing) to his book title as possible are assigned to a publisher only after the author's written approval.

It is always the author who makes the final decision to sign the publisher's contract. The agency will support him / her in this decision, giving the author advice based on the agency's experience and knowledge of the current market.
