| 1. All-pervading power We do not know it all. Neither are we omnipotent. If we are convinced that the quality of a manuscript is not quite up to par, we will not commission it. What an author thinks is a good manuscript isn't necessarily suitable for the relevant market. A fair agency will tell the author as much. If we as an agency think the manuscript is good and fit for the market, but the publisher thinks the opposite is the case, we are stuck and there's nothing we can do about it. |
